This week Amarillo Crime Stoppers needs help solving a burglary that happened over the weekend. It happened in a new home construction area in SW Amarillo. Someone broke into a fenced in area and hotwired a frontend loader and used it to bust locks off storage trailers. Once inside they took lots of copper wire, tools, and a 4 wheel drive gator. Today’s crime we need help on are two robberies that happened at the same location two nights in a row at the end of August. They were done by the same individual and around the same time. This week’s case I need help on caught a lot of attention a couple of weeks ago but the case has still not been solved. Two weeks ago a lady was traveling through Amarillo and stopped for gas. She went in to pay for her gas and when she came back out someone had entered her motor home and took a Macaw Parrot. Now this is not your average small green colored bird, we are talking about a yellow and blue larger bird that is valued at $1200. We feel sure some knows about this stolen bird. Amarillo Crime Stoppers needs your help this week locating a robbery suspect. The suspect is described as a BM in his 30’s about 5’8” weighing about 230 lbs. Witnesses described a possible suspect as being a WM 20’s 5’9” 155 lbs blond hair with a very sunburned neck, and a ball cap, wearing a cowboys jersey and was possibly with a WF or HF with dark hair in a ponytail driving a white 2 dr Buick. Anyone that has been a victim of a burglary knows that sick feeling you get after discovering it. This week’s crime is a burglary of a home. The items taken were those that you would suspect, computer, coin jar, and a safe. One thing stolen but has been recovered was a green Toyota car. Another item taken was a necklace, not an expensive necklace but one of greater value. This necklace was very special and had a basketball charm on it. June 17, 2008 Burglary

This past weekend someone had a real nicotine and alcohol fit, so bad that they broke into 2 different convenient stores and 2 liquor stores and stole cigarettes and whiskey. The suspect is the same in all four cases on camera. The suspect is a WM with white hoodie, black pants with a white stripe down the sides and white shoes. He took several packages of cigarettes and 5 bottle of whiskey. If you know someone who just recently has abundance of cigarettes or with 5 bottles of the same whiskey we sure would like to know. June 3, 2008 Theft

This week Crime Stoppers needs your help in catching some thieves. On 5-18-08 a thief broke into 4 cars at the same house. In one car a wallet was found with credit cards. The owner found the theft the next morning around 9am. By the time the report was made the credit card had been used 6 times from 3:30am to 4:17am, that is just a little more than 45 minutes. May 27, 2008 Theft

This week Crime Stoppers needs your help in catching some thieves. On 5-24-08 thieves hit two churches. Both Pleasant Valley Christian Church and New Life Church had their air conditioning units stolen. Both are small churches and these crimes will have a huge impact on their budgets. May 20, 2008 Burglary/Assault - Homicide

This week’s crime is horrendous and we need your help solving it. The first part of May an 83 year old female was asleep in her house and was awaken to a loud noise. She got up and went to check it out and was confronted by a subject around 6 foot tall dressed all in black from the full face ski mask to the thick ski gloves. This subject grabbed her and threw her to the ground and then went to the ground next to her striking her in the face as she fought back. As he ran out he told her he was the BLACK BANDIT. I don’t know about you but if I knew someone that beat up someone else’s grandma I would want them picked up. Do you know who beat this grandma up, if so call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.

The police need your help this week in a homicide. Saturday morning around 12:30am a family had just closed up their business and had arrived home. As they pulled in the garage two males ran up and robbed them. One person started honking the horn on the car for help and the suspects ran off, as two of the family members chased after them. This is where it turned tragic and the suspects shot and killed one of the family member. This is the third similar robbery and these suspects have now escalated their involvement. May 6, 2008 Deadly Conduct, Burglary/Homicide

This week Amarillo Crime Stoppers and some citizens need our help corralling a suspect that is conducting deadly conduct in our town that could eventually affect you and your neighborhood. There have been 3 reports of someone shooting into some townhomes along I-40. The suspects are not using a BB gun the bullets we have pulled out from INSIDE the homes are 9mm rounds. This is a very dangerous situation and we need your help solving it. The Amarillo Police Department needs your help in getting a dangerous person off our streets. Back in April there was a burglary in the 2500 Block of N Orange where a large amount of rolled coins were taken as well as a unique collections of painted state quarters. Last week officers were called back out and found the residence in shambles. We feel like the homeowner came home and surprised the burglar or burglars who them killed him. This week we just want to brag a bit about our program and to inform you that what you are doing is making a difference in the Amarillo area. Since the 1st of January we have cleared 32 cases, and put 18 people in jail for those cases. We have also taken 20 fugitives off the streets. We have also recovered $18,250 in stolen property as well as taken $3,646 in narcotics off our streets. We have paid out $3,810 in rewards. This could not have done this without your help. April 22, 2008 Robberies

On February 29th and April 11th we had two robberies that are very similar. They were both business owners that were followed home and robbed at gun point. In one of the incidents the suspects fired three shots at the victim but missed. They are described as 2 males being light skinned, in the first they were wearing a red and white bandana and in the second robbery they were dressed all in black with ski mask. April 15, 2008 Burglary

On March 14th someone broke into a school in Randall County. Once the subject broke in they turned on the water and flooded the portable building, threw paint all over the walls and just caused extensive damage that was valued at close to $20,000 thousand dollars. This cost in turn cost you the taxpayer. We sure would like to find the one responsible for doing this. April 1, 2008 Robbery

On Friday a man went into a local bank and robbed them, now we need your help finding out who this man is. He is described as a BM in his 30’s, about 6 foot tall, 175 lbs, wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and a blue baseball cap, sandals or flip flops and sunglasses. Thankfully no one was hurt! March 25, 2008 Forgery

What happened to honesty? Do people really believe the saying finders keepers? On the 3rd of March a man dropped his wallet at a restaurant. He realized it two hours later when he got home. He called to cancel the credit cards and they had been used already. The suspect is described as a WF 20’s – 40’s. She had a small boy 4-5 years old with her and another small child of 2-3 years of age. During the overnight hours of February 21st someone broke into Tascosa High School. Once inside a projector was taken. The suspect is a Hispanic or Black male with a mustache wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is a Black female, there was also a white female suspect. January 26, 2008 Vandalism

This past weekend there was someone that was very bored and likes destroying other people’s property. During the overnight hours of Saturday and Sunday morning someone walked in an area around 300 block of Mesquite and cut tires on several vehicles. These tires were destroyed and the damage was several thousands of dollars. Sure would like to find these folks so we can get them something to do. January 19, 2008 Robberies

On Sunday February 17th we had two robberies at two different convenient stores. The first one happened at 2:46am the other was at 3:37am. Both were located in southwest Amarillo. He was described as a BM 5’10” to 6’ wearing sunglasses, a blue toboggan, he was described as wearing dark colored shirt and pants. In both cases he indicated that he had a weapon. We need to find this guy before he strikes again. January 12, 2008 Construction Thefts

One has to admit we have lots of new growth, and lots of new homes under construction, in Amarillo. This is a good thing for Amarillo and to watch it grow, but with the good comes some bad and we now need your help. At the new home construction sites lots of builders are losing equipment and materials some is just from it being left unattended. Recently however we are having a rash of thefts that have included windows that have already been installed. This is getting expense for the builders and it is time to bring that to a stop. January 8, 2008 Burglary

Well it is a new year and how awesome would it be if we could solve each crime within the week we present them to you, remember if the crime we feature each week is solved with a tip during that week we will pay $1000! With that said I am looking for information on a burglary at a church construction site that happened shortly after Christmas. One week they stole two trucks and then a week later about $30,000 dollars in tools were taken. This week Amarillo Crime Stoppers needs your help with a VERY dangerous individual!!! On January 12 at 2:30 the morning one of our officers was driving in the area of 1200 E 10th. He saw two suspicious guys around the front door of the business. The guys saw the officer and turned and produces a rifle and fired at him. They then ran off. If these guys will fire upon an officer imagine what they would do to a civilian! The only description is a HM 18-21 small build. If you have heard anything on this case call me at 374-4400.
