Proper care and cleaning will prolong the life of the rug. We recommend regular vacuuming, any stray fibers should be cut even with the rug’s surface, never pulled. Clean spills and spots immediately. Never rub a spill always blot to prevent fraying of the yarns. Periodic professional cleaning is recommended. 

What are the rugs made of? 

Sphinx rugs are constructed of two materials, polypropylene and/or wool, or a combination of the two. Polypropylene is strong and colorfast with a soft wool like feel. Wool has excellent resistance to compression due to the physical nature of the wool fiber and is noted for its luxury and softness. 

Are the rugs flame resistant? 

Yes, the fibers of the rugs is inherently flame retardant thereby difficult to ignite and self-extinguishing. 

How do you get a rug to lay flat? 

This can be easily done using the reverse roll procedure, simply roll the rug in the opposite direction.
