Adware:
Our definition: Any software application
in which advertising banners are displayed while the program is running
is called Adware.
Spyware: Spyware is any software
that transmits information back to a third party without notifying the
user. Note: Some privacy advocates also call legitimate computer
monitoring, filtering, Internet monitoring, password recovery, security
or surveillance software "Spyware" because it could be used without notifying
the users.
Web Browser HiJackerThese are programs that change settings in your browser without your
knowledge. These programs will often times change your browser's homepage
and searching features and often reset itself again and again and will
not let you remove it. This is done in an effort to drive revenue to a different homepage advertiser as well as force their virus and spyware software onto your computer. These browser hijackers can
also compile and transmit your searching habits and well as other personal information.
